Ben Moore started with a shovel in his hand at 17, two weeks out of high school, working as a labourer on large civil construction sites in Ottawa. He spent his lunch breaks learning the machines; asking operators for tips, studying their technique, and bouncing between companies for years just to earn seat time.

 

He bought his first bulldozer, a 1988 CAT D3C, in 2012, and for five years he ran residential side work on nights and weekends until he'd built up the experience to go out on his own. In 2017, B Moore On Grade was open for business.

 

What began as a one-man residential dozer operation out of Ingleside has grown, year by year, into a full-service excavation and grading contractor serving homeowners and general contractors across SD&G and the Cornwall area. From lot clearing and grading to foundation excavation, utility trenching, and licensed septic design and installation, Ben does it all. He's the first and last guy on your site, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

 

For Ben, this was never just a job: it's a craft he's spent 20 years perfecting, and he's proud to keep doing it right, for the community he calls home.
